The health and safety of our employees is of the utmost importance to SanMar Canada, and we have a number of committees and teams that ensure our locations meet safety standards.
If you would like to become a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee or the First Aid Team, you can find the application forms for all of our committees/teams on the “Teams” section of The Stitch.
For now, though, we want to introduce you to the groups and let you know exactly what their role is within the company.
Joint Health & Safety Committee
A Joint Health and Safety Committee is a committee made up of worker and employer representatives working together to identify and resolve health and safety concerns in the workplace.
It’s responsible for identifying and recommending solutions to these concerns. Individual workers have a responsibility to report concerns to their supervisor or employer. However, if the concern is not corrected, a committee member should be contacted.
First Aid Team
The First Aid Team is made up of SanMar Canada employees who have met the provincial requirements for providing immediate and potentially lifesaving, medical care before either the arrival of paramedics or being taken to a medical facility.
