This could be the largest spotted in SanMar Canada history!

After 539 days away, the Vancouver Whitecaps returned to BC Place on August 21st, for their first home game against Los Angeles FC. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, they have played the rest of their home games this season at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah.

With a party atmosphere on Robson Street ahead of kickoff, supporters made their way back to Terry Fox Plaza, while Dr. Bonnie Henry, front-line workers, and Canada’s Olympic medalists were honoured.

To keep fans relatively spaced apart, every second row in the stadium was closed, but on any seat that was open to the public, there was a commemorative jersey to mark the occasion.

Over 11,000 fans were given the t-shirts, with the date of the game and the words “Take Me Home” on the front. Every fan who watched the Whitecaps score in the last minute to secure a 2-1 win went home happy with the result and went home happy with an ATC1000.

It’s great to see supporters back in stadiums after so long, and it’s also great to see SanMar Canada being represented on the big stage.
