Some sad news from over the weekend as actor Robbie Coltrane passed away at age 72.
He played Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies and as someone who grew up with the books and the movies, he added humour, grandeur, and warmth to the films and was a perfect fit for the role of the beloved half-giant.
Coltrane had a long and illustrious career with roles in a few James Bond movies, the tv show Cracker, and many more going back to 1974.
He will be missed and will make rewatching the Harry Potter series a bit more melancholic.
