This month we’re encouraging you to get active, get outdoors and to look after yourself. Active April is all about being physically active while finding ways to get moving in order to stay healthy.
You don’t have to commit to a marathon every second day to be active this month, because the little things make the biggest difference.
It’s not all about exercise, because looking after your mind and your body are just as important as being active, so we’ve outlined a few of the daily actions in April that could have a positive impact on you:
- Tuesday, April 5th – turn a regular activity into a playful game today.
- Saturday, April 9th – spend as much time as possible outdoors today.
- Wednesday, April 13th – make sleep a priority and go to bed in good time.
- Thursday, April 21st – regularly pause to stretch and breathe during the day.
- Monday, April 25th – have a “no screens” night and take time to recharge yourself.
Active April coincides with SanMar Canada’s Activity Challenge, which gets underway today.
The challenge runs until May 1st, with points awarded for partaking in any exercise or activity you like.
Activities include, but are not limited to, yoga, meditation, stretching, walking, running, swimming, biking, weight-lifting, soccer, basketball, sit-ups, squats, push-ups, lunges.
