So that’s that.
2021 comes to an end tonight, and not a moment too soon for many people.
There have been some testing times over the last few twelve months thanks to circumstances out of our control, but a new year offers fresh hope, fresh opportunities, and a fresh start.
We asked a few of our teammates to share three things that they’re happy to leave behind in 2021, and three things they’re most looking forward to in 2022.
Julie Coluccio – General Merchandising Manager
Leave in 2021:
- My garden fails, specifically carrots that aren’t big enough to even nibble on.
- My sore knees – I started jogging this year, and my knees weren’t but they’re stronger now.
- Bennifer – enough already. (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez for those who don’t know).
Looking forward to in 2022:
- Training for a half marathon – my brother challenged me to train with him.
- Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I can’t wait to see what happens to Midge and the gang.
- New rose garden in the middle of my front lawn. Less grass to mow and more flowers to enjoy.
Alex Berdichevsky – Production Planner
Leave in 2021:
- Covid19.
- Travel restrictions.
- Vancouver Canucks – they have been terrible this season.
Looking forward to in 2022:
- Travelling to see family.
- Sporting events with no restrictions.
- Continued success for SanMar Canada.
Chad MacLeod – Pricing Manager
Leave in 2021:
- The lack of international travel.
- Living alone.
- BC floods and landslides.
Looking forward to in 2022:
- My 50th birthday.
- My 30th anniversary at SanMar Canada.
- Getting married.
Jenna Freschi – Senior Marketing Assistant
Leave in 2021:
- Bad habits and routines I have picked up through working from home that don’t serve me
- Using my phone and social media as my safety blanket
- Regret for the things I didn’t end up doing and experiencing because of fear
Looking forward to in 2022:
- Seeing my niece, nephew and family again and giving my mom a big hug
- Planning my wedding
- Spending time with friends I haven’t been able to see in year
Now it’s time for you to get involved.
In the comments, let us know what you want to leave behind, and what you’re looking forward to most.
