Do Good December

This month, we’re encouraging you to carry out small acts of kindness.

The last year has been another difficult year of uncertainty and ups and downs for many of us.

Kindness is contagious, and helping others has been proven to make us feel better too.

Let’s try to focus on being generous with our time and attention rather than money – it’s free and better for everyone, as well as our planet!

You might remember our Random Acts of Kindness series earlier this year where we followed the stories of people who went out of their way to be kind. We met Frankie the Bartender in Dublin who removed a patio umbrella to escort a customer home in the pouring rain, and Crystal Flaman in Kelowna who decided to hand out flowers to strangers and put kind notes on people’s cars.

Over in the UK, Sebbie Hall carried out over 1600 random acts of kindness since the start of the pandemic, while in Ohio, we came across ten workers who searched through a landfill to find a bag that was missing which was holding $25,000. Finally, we learned about a new program in Denver whereby drivers who get pulled over for a minor vehicle issue could be given a gift card and not a ticket.

You don’t have to go to the same lengths as the people above, but why not try out the Do Good December Calendar and see if you can make someone’s day that little bit better.
