Random Acts of Kindness – Volume 3

We have visited Dublin and Kelowna already in our random acts of kindness series, and now we’re taking a trip to the United Kingdom to meet a man who is on a marathon of kindness.

Sebbie Hall, has carried out a random act of kindness every single day since the start of the pandemic, and has hit over 1600 to date.

The 18-year-old, who also has a rare chromosome anomaly, has given clothes and food to the homeless, handed out PPE, walked neighbour’s pets, did some gardening for neighbours, handed out lottery tickets to strangers, helped at food banks and gave 100 roses to 100 women just to make them smile.

As well as carrying out all of these unbelievable acts of kindness, his good deeds have raised £28,000 ($48,000) in donations which he has given to different charities.

Sebbie has defied expectations his whole life after being told at a young age that because of his disability, he was unlikely to ever walk or talk.

We’ve outlined some of the random acts of kindness that this young man has carried out above, but here are a few more highlights of the incredible work he has done:

  • Handed out 365 Easter eggs to random houses
  • Written poems for his friends
  • Delivered toiletries to a women’s refuge
  • Left secret Santa bags on 80 doorsteps last Christmas

In this day and age, many of us are caught up in our own lives, forgetting that the simplest of things can make the most significant impact on someone else. A random act of kindness doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Something as simple as a smile towards someone on the street could make a tough day for them a lot better.

If you turn on the news or are scrolling through your social media timelines, unfortunately a lot of what you’ll see is doom and gloom. With our Random Acts of Kindness series, we want you to share what you, a family member, a friend or a colleague has done for someone else. It doesn’t have to be someone you know either – it can be anyone or anything who has shared their kindness with the world.
