World Day For Safety And Health At Work

World Day For Safety And Health At Work is an annual campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work conditions, ensuring every worker has the right to a safe and healthy working environment.

Statistics from the International Labour Organization show that 6300 people die every day as a result of occupational accidents or work-related diseases, which is more than 2.3 million deaths per year.

317 million accidents occur on the job annually, many resulting in extended absences from work.

Here at SanMar Canada, we recognize and encourage proper labour practices, from those in our offices, warehouses and those who are out on the road.

We have been both consistent and conscientious in our approach to dealing with Covid-19, and the safety of our staff, contractors and customers is of paramount importance to us, and that will continue long after this pandemic.

The Joint Health and Safety Committee is made up of worker and employer representatives working together to identify and resolve health and safety concerns in the workplace. The committee is responsible for identifying and recommending solutions to these concerns.

You can find the application forms for all of our committees/teams on the “Teams” section of The Stitch.
