We’ve all seen the horrors that Ukrainians have suffered over the last two months. With villages, towns and cities being bombed daily, many have left not just Ukraine, but Europe, for a safer life.
300 Ukrainians landed in Winnipeg from Poland yesterday, mostly women and children, and mostly people who don’t have much more than the bags they’re carrying and the clothes they’re wearing.
Ken Greatrex, our Regional Sales Manager for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario, dropped off our donation to the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada.
Don (pictured below) and his wife Beverly are very involved in supporting refugees and soldiers from Ukraine, which is why we’re not solely donating apparel to those who have arrived in Canada.
A shipment of t-shirts will be sent to Ukraine to those caring for injured soldiers, along with medical supplies and equipment like flashlights, from several businesses in Manitoba.
Canada has welcomed thousands of Ukrainians since Russian forces first attacked in late February, and Canadians have once again shown their concern and their generosity to those in need.
Thanks to everyone who organized getting our donation out and a special word of thanks must go to Ken Greatrex, who has led this initiative from the start and is helping make a difference.
If you or someone you know wants to help those affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Government of Canada offers great information and resources right here: https://tinyurl.com/32azpvz6
