The Chinese language is known as one of the most complex languages to learn, but it is deeply rooted in history and has existed for thousands of years.
Chinese Language Day was founded by the United Nations to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity, while Chinese was established as an official language of the UN in 1946.
Today, many members of the United Nations work with Chinese as a functional language. They also aim to teach people around the world the benefits that learning the Chinese language can have.
The six official languages of UN are English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian, and each language has a day dedicated to it.
If you would like to celebrate the day, join a Chinese language class or pick up a few phrases to mark the occasion, or join one of the many online events, workshops, and concerts around the world.
Post pictures and share your thoughts about the day with others on social media using the hashtag #ChineseLanguageDay.
