St. Patrick’s Day is exactly two weeks away, and to celebrate everything Irish, we’re putting together SanMar Canada’s St. Patrick’s Day Spotify Playlist.
Whether it’s a traditional Irish song you know, one of U2’s many classics, Sinead O’Connor’s emotional ballads or any tune from the Emerald Isle, let us know.
If you have any songs that you’d like to see include, please send an email to seano@sanmarcanada.com and it’ll be added straight away.
After launching this playlist in the last week of January, we’ve received plenty of song suggestions, so please keep them coming.
We also shared our beginner’s guide to St. Patrick’s Day for those who have never celebrated the day, and this time, we have five fun facts about the holiday itself, and about Ireland:
- St. Patrick wasn’t even Irish – he was from the United Kingdom.
- Ireland is the only country to have a musical instrument as it’s national symbol (harp).
- The first ever St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in New York in 1762.
- Muckanaghederdauhaulia, a village in Galway, is the longest place name in English the language.
- Halloween originated in Ireland, dating back over 2,000 years to the Celtic festival of Samhain.
Go raibh míle maith agat agus táimid ag tnúth go mór le Lá Fhéile Pádraig 2022!
Thank you very much and we are looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day 2022!
