It’s exactly fifty days until St. Patrick’s Day, and over the last few years, we’ve asked you to search your wardrobe for the greenest gear you have.
This year is no different. The Social Committee wants to see your “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirts, your leprechaun hats and anything you think is appropriate for Ireland’s big day.
We created summer and winter playlists last year, and with the incredible musical talent that has come out of Ireland over the last few decades, it would be remiss of us not to celebrate the Emerald Isle.
If you have any songs that you’d like to see included in the playlist, please send an email to seano@sanmarcanada.com and it’ll be added in for your enjoyment.
Whether it’s U2, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, any of the traditional Irish numbers you might know of or any genre of music from Ireland, let us know and we’ll take it from there.
If this is to be your first experience of the Irish holiday, here’s your St. Patrick’s Day 101:
- Never say “St. Patty’s Day” – it’s either St. Patrick’s Day or Paddy’s Day.
- Leprechauns are not real, they’re supernatural beings in Irish folklore.
- Over 13 million pints of Guinness are consumed worldwide on March 17th.
- Four leaf clovers have nothing to do with Ireland or St. Patrick’s Day.
- The cereal Lucky Charms is not, nor has it ever been sold in Ireland.
Go raibh míle maith agat agus táimid ag tnúth go mór le Lá Fhéile Pádraig 2022!
Thank you very much and we are looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day 2022!
